About us

Laxapana Complex (Laxapana Cascaded Hydro Power System) can be described as Kehelgamu – Maskeli Oya complex. Also known as K-M complex, as the five power stations in the Laxapana Complex are situated along Kehelgamu oya and Maskeli Oya. The main large reservoir at the top of Kehelgamu oya is Castlereagh reservoir, where the rain water from the catchment area above the reservoir gets collected. Reliability Centered Maintenance

We use the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), state of the art technology to maintain our plants of Laxapana Hydro Power Complex and machinery in order to maximize the plant availability by minizing  plant down time,  to generate electricity at competitive price to uplift the national economy.

  • PLANT FACTOR - The plant factor of a power plant is the ratio of the actual energy output of the power plant over a period of time to its potential output if it had operated at full nameplate capacity the entire time.
  • AVAILABILITY - The availability factor of a power plant is the amount of time that it is able to produce electricity over a certain period, divided by the amount of the time in the period. Occasions where only partial capacity is available may or may not be deducted.
  • FAULT FACTOR - The fault factor of a power plant is the ratio between the amount of time the plant shutdown due to a fault and the total time including time of running and time of fault outage. In Laxapana Complex the value shown above is the average of all plants.
